Phoenix, Ariz. February 1, 2018 – Terra Verde’s Vice President of Solutions, Carlos Villalba and Senior Engineer Gavin Stroy, will be presenting on securing and auditing cloud computing and virtual environments at the next ISACA Chapter meeting scheduled for February 22, 2018.
Gavin Stroy’s presentation will provide an overview of the risks associated in working with third-party cloud vendors, key security controls to consider, and how to incorporate this information into a vendor management program.
Gavin has performed network and security consulting services for various Fortune 500 companies, giving him a strong background in various technologies used throughout the industry. His work as a consultant and security researcher has given him the opportunity to be published in eForensics Magazine, and speak at conferences such as Defcon and CactusCon. At Terra Verde, Gavin works with clients to help companies realize the business value of security, risk and compliance investments.
Carlos Villalba’s presentation will provide practical tools and strategies that will enable auditors to gain a better understanding of security controls implementation in Amazon cloud offerings.
Carlos has over 20 years of extensive experience designing, developing, managing and implementing IT security solutions in compliance with IT security standards, and industry best practices. His broad skills and experience spans compliance assessments, HIPAA, PCI, FISMA, FEDRAMP, ISO, pen-testing, risk assessments, vulnerability management, IT security projects, DIACAP Training Design, Oracle database performance, open source solutions, learning management systems and database management systems. Carlos has provided services to the US military, federal government, credit unions, universities, retailers, health care, manufacturing companies and small businesses. He has assisted in peer-reviewed publications as editor and many published documents include his work and contributions. As the Vice President at Terra Verde Carlos utilizes his skills and experience to develop and innovate the company’s portfolio of consulting services and managed security solutions. Carlos also provides leadership and oversight to service delivery and operational teams that deliver services for clients.
